What this is about

The day is blocked, the guest cancels

A tour is agreed. Two days beforehand the guest cancels — or simply doesn't turn up. The date was held, other enquiries were turned down because of it, and at that notice no replacement can be found.

The day is gone. Nobody paid for it.

On top of that, the everyday work around it: enquiries by phone, WhatsApp and email, a calendar that knows nothing about your private week, forgotten follow-ups, and the endless question of who has actually paid.

We keep building where it really hurts. That is why we talk to mountain guides — and not about them. What comes next is decided by those conversations, not by the programmer.

What the application does

Built, not planned

Sixteen areas are running, four are there in outline. What does not yet hold up is stated below — we would rather write down what is missing than leave it out.

01

Deposits in view

Quote with a deadline, payment request with your own bank details, and at a glance: who has paid and whose deadline is running. The money goes straight to you — the application keeps the books, it does not collect.

02

Holds with an expiry date

The date is held firmly — but only for as long as you decide. After that it is released automatically.

03

A calendar that knows your reality

Working days, fixed days off, private appointments, lead and follow-up time around a high alpine tour. Mountain rescue, avalanche commission or industrial climbing too — days that are neither private nor a guided tour. What is taken is taken.

04

Weather: move it instead of losing it

The booking moves to a new date, the deposit moves with it, the difference is settled.

05

Made for the group. Several guides, a shared calendar, assignment of enquiries — a human always makes the decision.

06

Open group dates. Guests join individually, remaining places count themselves down. Minimum and maximum party size included.

07

Your own enquiry form. One link for Instagram, your website or your signature. The enquiry lands in an inbox, not in your data — you decide what becomes a booking. And you see where it came from.

08

Made for being out and about. Because you are not at a desk when an enquiry comes in.

What does not yet hold up. Cancellation and rebooking, the generated documents, the deposit deadlines and the tax profile are there in outline, but not finished. And the application currently sends nothing to guests — no quote, no reminder. That is a deliberate lock for the trial period, not a missing feature.

What we are talking about

Three views from the application

These areas exist. Redrawn, not photographed: all names and figures are invented, and real guest data goes on no website — not even as an example.

The enquiry lands in an inbox of its own, not in your data. Only when you take it on does a guest and a booking come into being — advertising and nonsense stay outside.

Commitments

What you can rely on

Not statements of intent, but commitments. They stay as they are.

  • Your guests stay your guests. GuideBooking is not a marketplace — you appear in no third-party catalogue and are not listed next to your competitors.

  • A good summer doesn't cost you more. No commission per booking. Working more does not mean paying more.

  • Your money runs through your account. Deposits and balance payments go directly to you. FranchLabs never holds guests' money at any point.

  • You remain the contracting party. The contract is between you and your guest — we do not broker and do not interfere.

  • You decide who guides the tour. The system suggests who is free. The decision is always made by a responsible person.

  • Your qualification stays your own statement. Details of training and insurance are your own declaration, are marked as such — and are not assessed by us.

  • One thing, done properly. GuideBooking handles the guiding service — no accommodation, no transport, no lift passes.

  • Your data belongs to you. Full export at any time, triggered by you, without asking us.

We are looking for guides who help shape this

The application is up — but it is not finished, and what comes next is not decided by the programmer. There are a few questions for that: mostly tick-boxes, around ten minutes, fillable on a phone.

Nothing is being sold and nothing is being demonstrated. Whoever carries on with us gets real access and trials it in their own business — free of charge for as long as it is in trial use.

On your phone

Put it on your home screen as an app

There is nothing to install and no app store. The application can be placed on your home screen as an icon in two steps — after that it opens like an app, without an address bar. That goes for this page just as much as for app.guidebooking.franchcom.at.

iPhone

  1. 1

Open this page in Safari — not in Chrome, the menu item is missing there.

  2. 2

Tap the share icon at the bottom (square with an arrow pointing up).

  3. 3

Scroll down a little, choose “Add to Home Screen”, then “Add”.

Android

  1. 1

    Open this page in Chrome.

  2. 2

Tap the three dots at the top right.

  3. 3

Choose “Add to Home screen” or “Install app” and confirm.

Who is behind it

An IT company, not a startup

20+years of IT in Austria
SMEindustry and public institutions
360°consulting, build, operation and support

GuideBooking is being built at FranchLabs, the product division of Franchcom Ltd & Co KG in Vienna — an established Austrian IT service provider with more than 20 years of practice.

Our everyday work is running business-critical systems: server installation and systems integration, virtualisation and high availability, networks, firewalls and access control — plus ongoing maintenance, application support and helpdesk. We don't just build systems, we keep them running for years.

We also develop and operate our own products — among them in the field of secure recording and encrypted data transfer. Exactly those requirements — traceability, clean separation of data, reliability in operation — shape GuideBooking as well.

Technology is our craft. The mountain is yours — which is why we are asking you.
